M: What’re you going to do this weekend?
W: I haven’t decided yet. Any good ideas?
M: What about going swimming?
W: OK. Do you know any good places to go?
M: Well, how about Lake Green?
W: Why there? Anything special?
M: There’s a festival at the weekend. They do things like water skiing and boat racing in the lake.
W: That sounds interesting.
M: Why don’t we get some information from the Internet?
W: Yeah, let’s go now.

M: Hi, Tina. I haven’t seen you for a few weeks.
W: Yeah, Frank. I’m busy with the exam these days.
M: Well, summer holiday is coming. Do you have any plans?
W: Oh, my sister is coming for a visit. We decided to go camping together. What about you?
M: I’m going to visit my grandparents with my cousin Mike. Both of us like riding horses with our grandpa on the farm.
W: Wow, it must be interesting and exciting!
M: Right. And it’s a good way to forget our schoolwork for a while.
W: Wish you have a good time!
M: Thanks! The same to you!

M: Hi, Mum. It’s me. Craig.
W: Craig! How are you? How’s the new job?
M: Work is OK. I’m just a little tired.
W: Tired? You sound tired. What have you been doing?
M: I’m really tired. I’ve been working so hard and everything is so new to me. But don’t worry about me. And what about you, Mum?
W: Well, I’m preparing for a meeting next Tuesday. I’ve been busy but happy.
M: Oh, that’s good. How is Dad? What’s he been doing recently?
W: He has just returned from a business trip, so he has been relaxing.
M: That’s great! Mum, I have to return to my work now. Take care.
W: You too. Bye for now.

M: Good afternoon and welcome to our TV program “Good Home”. My guest today is Susan Brown, a college professor who specializes in children’s safety at home.
W: Hello!
M: Susan! I thought that the home is the safest place for children to be!
W: Well, yes. It should be. But there are unexpected dangers we all need to know!
M: Dangers? At home?
W: Yes! Most of time, we think things at home are safe, but safety is perhaps the most important life skill that children need to learn from an early age.
M: Oh, really? I’ve never thought of t hat.
W: Yes. Most accidents at home such as broken bones, cuts, burns and bites mainly happen in the kitchen, living room, on the stairs and even in the bedroom. And our study shows the chance of getting broken bones is the highest among home accidents.

Good evening, thank you all for coming here to learn about our school’s recycling program.
The recycling is planned as a three-part program: searching, collecting and carrying. The first part, searching, is the hardest one. Most people don’t like to take the time to separate rubbish and this is why most recycling programs usually fail. However, we believe that our program will work.
From now on, instead of seeing the usual black rubbish cans all over the school, you will see three different colored rubbish cans. Pink cans are for paper, blue cans are for bottles, and white cans are for all the other waste. After the rubbish is collected, it needs to be sorted and then taken to the recycling center.
Since this recycling program is still a volunteer program, we ask for no more than 5 hours per person in each week. Your job will be to collect all sorts of rubbish and take it to different centers.
If you would like to help, please leave me your name and telephone number and we’ll meet here on the 15th September right after school. Hope to see you then!

M: Good morning. Can I help you?
W: Oh, yes. I want to rent an apartment. My name is Kate Murphy. M-U-R-P-H-Y.
M: M-U-R-P-H-Y, right?
W: Yes, that’s right.
M: Then what kind of apartment do you prefer?
W: Well, I want to live near Sunday Street.
M: Sunday Street, right. Anything else?
W: The rent should not be more than 120 pounds a month, including water and gas. I’d like an air conditioner and heating system.
M: How long are you going to rent it?
W: About two years and a half, from July.
M: Do you have a telephone number?
W: It’s 9532816.
M: OK! As soon as I find an apartment I will call you.
W: Thank you. I’m looking forward to your answer.
