What is a workshop?

A workshop is a series of educational and work sessions. Small groups of people meet together over a short period of time to concentrate on a defined area of concern.

Purposes for workshops may vary.

Typically, a workshop has two components:

• Technical

  Example:

  Presenting theory in lectures and readings

• Applied

  Examples:

  Doing a project, producing a product, or writing a paper
