North korea has test fired a ballistic missile which traveled thousands kilometers before falling into the sea of Japan. It's the first such launch in more than two months,and comes despite continuing international pressure on Pyongyang to desist.The Pentagon said it traveled thousands kilometers before splashing down in the sea of Japan within Japan's exclusive economic zone. The US department of the defense says it detected and tracked the launch. Its initial assessment indicated that the missile potentially has an intercontinental range. Mr trump has insisted that North Korea will never be allowed to develop the capability to strike the continental United States with nuclear weapons.But his first response to the news was simply to acknowledge the launch has taken place.

In response South Korea staged what he called precise strike missile exercise.The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson mentioned it in a statement saying the United States strongly condemns the launch,but he said diplomatic option to find a peaceful path to denuclearization remain viable.In Tokyo, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki gave the official response. Today at three eighteen am a ballistic missile was launched from North Korea's western coast. We can never accept North Korea's continuous provocative behaviour and we are strongly protesting against it.Mr Shiozaki.

The prime minister Shinzo Abe had called an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the incident.

A jury in United States has acquitted a Libyan militant of murder that convicted him of terrorism charges in connection with an attack on the US consulate in Bengali in 2012. Ahmed Abu Khattala was charged eighteen counts including murder,conspiring to provide material support to terrorists and destroying US property. The US ambassador to Libya and three other Americans died in the attack. Ahmed Abu Khattala was acquitted of all but four of the charges. He was captured by US special forces in Libya in 2014.
