The U.S. House of Representatives has narrowly passed Republican legislation to repeal and replace major parts of Barack Obama's affordable healthcare act. It marks a major victory for President Trump, who previously suffered two galling defeats on his campaign pledged to scrap Obamacare. No Democrat voted for the bill, which now goes to the Senate.

President Trump will sign an executive order to ease a ban on political activity by churches and other tax-exempt religious groups. The President also said his first overseas trip would start in Saudi Arabia, with a meeting of leaders across the Muslim world.

The French presidential candidate, Emmanuel Macron, has filed a lawsuit after his nationalist rival, Marine Le Pen, alluded to an alleged offshore account during their last TV debate. Mr. Macron rejected allegations he'd set up a shell company in the Caribbean island of Nevis.

Russia, Turkey and Iran have agreed to set up four safe zones in Syria. Moscow's proposals were agreed at peace negotiations in Kazakstan. Representatives of the Syrian armed opposition walked out in protest at Iran's role.

The Somali minister killed by government troops on Wednesday, Abbas Abdullahi Siraji, has been buried in a state funeral. A bodyguard protecting the country's Auditor-General opened fire at the minister's car as it approached the presidential palace. An official suggested the officer mistook Mr. Abbas for a security threat.

Police in southwest Pakistan say an angry crowd of about five hundred people attacked the police station, after police refused to hand over a Hindu man being held on allegations of posting blasphemous materials online. A young man was killed when police fired into the air.

A judge in Madrid has ordered the Brazilian football star, Neymar, to stand trial for fraud and corruption over his transfer from Santos to Barcelona in 2013. Prosecutors allege the clubs understated the true values of the deal.
