一、教学目标与要求

1．能够听懂、会说：Are you helpful at home, Chen Jie? What can you do? I can sweep the floor．You're helpful! 并能在情景中运用。

2．能够听懂、会唱歌曲“I Can Help”。

二、教学重、难点分析

1．本课时教学重点是句型“What can you do? I can ....”

2．本课时教学难点是句子“Are you helpful at home?”以及在实际情景中正确运用所学会话。

三、课前准备

1．教师准备录音机及录音带。

2．教师准备四年级上册第四单元不同房间的词卡。

3．教师准备狗、熊猫、老鼠、Mike 的头饰和一张母亲节日历。

四、教学步骤和建议

1．热身（Warm-up）

教师放四年级上册A部分Let's do的录音，适时出示各房间词卡，学生边说边做相应的动作。

2．预习（Preview）

（1）教师放Let's chant 部分歌谣的录音，学生边说边表演。然后请四名学生上台，分别戴好狗、熊猫、老鼠和Mike的头饰，台下的学生提问，台上的学生分别回答。

（2）教师说：The dog can run．The bird can fly．The squirrel can jump．They're helpful．I'm helpful, too．I can sing and play ping-pong．I can clean the bedroom．Are you helpful? What can you do?　引导学生给出尽量多的回答。

（3）学生听录音，跟读Let's learn 部分的词汇并拼读、仿写。

（4）教师做浇花、倒垃圾等动作，学生猜词组。

3．新课呈现（Presentation）

Let's try

（1）学生听录音，做Let's try部分的练习“Listen and tick or cross”。

录音内容如下：

Grandma: What can you do，Mike?

Mike: I can sweep the floor．I can cook the meals．I can clean the bedroom．And I can water the flowers．

Grandma: Great! You're helpful! 

（2） 教师说：Mike is helpful at home．Are you helpful at home? What can you do? 请学生两人一组进行问答操练。

Let's talk

（1） 教师放Let's talk 部分的录音，学生听录音跟读。然后进行替换练习。

（2）教师出示一张日历，上面写着：Mother's Day，教师问：What day is today? 学生回答后，教师说：The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day．What can you do for your mother on Mother Day?同桌学生一起准备一段母亲节里帮妈妈做家务的对话。例如：

S1: Today is Mother's Day, Mom．Happy Mother's Day! Let me help you．

S2: What can you do, good boy/girl?

S1: I can .... 

S2: Great! You're helpful! 

Group work

（1）学生打开学生用书，翻到第47页，在规定时间内进行四人小组内或更大范围内的调查并按要求做好记录。如果时间允许，还可以让几名学生向全班汇报调查结果，如：Amy can sweep the floor, cook the meal, empty the trash. 教师还可再设计一张类似的调查表，调查学生在学校能做什么劳动。

（2）做“背靠背”游戏：让两名学生上台背靠背，每人拿一张动作词卡，不要让对方看见，边说“One two three!”边各向前走三步，同时转身向对方展示自己手中的词卡，看谁先读出对方的词组。

Let's sing

教师放“I Can Help”录音，第一遍，学生仔细听录音，理解歌词的含义并熟悉歌曲的曲调。第二遍，学生跟录音学唱，然后在教师带领下表演唱。教师注意解释“clothes, dishes”和”There is so much I can do．Now I ask you．”的意思并领读。学生学会后，可采用男女生分组联唱的形式，男生唱完第一遍后大声问：What can you do? 女生紧接着唱第二遍。若要降低难度，教师可参考下面的歌词：I can set the table．I can sweep the floor．I can wash my clothes．I can wash my face．I can water the flowers．I can clean the bedroom．I can empty the trash．I can cook the meals．

4．巩固和延伸（Consolidation and extension）

（1）让学生做本单元A Let's talk 部分的活动手册配套练习。

（2）让学生听Let's learn, Let's talk部分的录音，读给家长或同伴听。

（3）让学生坚持每天帮父母做适量的家务，并用英语表达。
