Xin Nian Kuai Le! (新年快乐! Happy New Year)!
Today, Chinese communities in Canada and around the world mark the Lunar New Year and the start of the Year of the Dog, a symbol of honesty, hard work, and determination. 2018 is also special as we mark the Canada-China Year of Tourism. The New Year is a time to come together with friends and family and look to the year ahead with optimism and hope.
It’s also a chance to celebrate the many contributions of the Chinese-Canadian community. For generations, Chinese-Canadians have helped make Canada strong, inclusive, and prosperous and that’s as true today as ever.
As we move forward with 2018, let’s continue to celebrate that which brings us together as well as the diversity that makes us strong.
From our family to yours, Sophie and I wish you joy, health, and peace in the year to come.
Gong Hey Fat Choy!(恭喜发财!Wishing you happiness and prosperity!)
