My New Teachers They say that first impressions are very important. My first impression of Mrs. Li was that she was nervous and shy. I think perhaps she was, as it was her first lesson with us. But now, after two weeks, the class really likes working with her. She's kind and patient, and she explains English grammar so clearly that even I can understand it! She avoids making you feel stupid! I've always hated making mistakes or pronouncing a word incorrectly when I speak English,but Mrs. Li just smiles, so that you don't feel completely stupid! I think maybe she goes a bit too slowly for the faster students, but for me it's wonderful! I feel I'm going to make progress with her. I'd guess that Mrs. Chen is almost sixty. She's very strict—we don't dare to say a word unless she asks us to. She's also very serious and doesn't smile much. When she asks you to do something, you do it immediately! There are a few students in our class who keep coming to class late but they're always on time for Mrs. Chen's lessons! Some of our class don't ike her, but most of us really appreciate her because her teaching is so well organised and clear. And a few students even admit liking her! During scientific experiments, she explains exactly what is happening and as a result my work is improving. Physics will never be my favourite lesson, but I think that I’ll do well in the exam with Mrs Chen teaching me. Mr. Wu’s only been teaching us for two weeks and he’s already very popular. I think this is because he really enjoys teaching Chinese literature ---- he loves it, in fact! He’s got so much energy, this is one class you do not fall asleep in! He’s about 28, I think, and is rather good-looking. He talks loudly and fast, and waves his hands about a lot when he gets excited. He’s really amusing and tells jokes when he thinks we’re getting bored. Even things like compositions and summaries are fun with Mr. Wu. I respect him a lot. Module 2 我的新老师 人们常说第一印象(first impression)很重要。我对李老师的第一印象是她既紧张(nervous)又害羞(shy)。我想，她那时可能就是这样，因为那是她给我们上的第一节课。但现在，在两周之后，全班学生真的喜欢上她的课了。她和蔼，有耐心，而且解释英语语法非常清楚，连我也能听懂！她不会（avoid避免）让你觉得自己很笨！我总是很讨厌出错或者在说英语时发错 (incorrectly 不正确地) 单词的音，但李老师只是笑笑，这样(so that 因此)，你就不会觉得自己很笨（completely stupid）！我认为对接受快的学生来说，得有点慢，但对我来说，真是太棒了！我觉得跟着她学习我会取得进步( make progress)。 我猜想陈老师差不多有60岁了。她很严格――――除非她让我们说，否则我们一句话也不敢说。她还很严肃（serious），很少笑。当她要求你做某事时，你要马上（immediately）去做！我们班有几个学生上课老是迟到，但他们总是准时上陈老师的课。班里有的同学不喜欢她，但我们大多数同学都很欣赏（appreciate）她，因为她讲课既有条理（well organized）又清楚。一些学生甚至承认(admit)喜欢她！在做科学实验(scientific experiments)时，她准确地讲解发生了什么，结果(as a result)，我的功课不断进步。虽然物理永不会是我最喜欢的课，但我认为由陈老师教我，我会考得很好。 吴老师仅仅教了我们两个礼拜就已经深受学生欢迎了。我想这是因为他的确喜欢教中国文学（literature）---实际上(in fact)，他热爱中国文学！他精力这么充沛，因此，上他的课，你不会睡着（fall asleep）！我想他大约28岁，长得很帅。他声音洪亮(loudly 大声地)，语速很快，他兴奋的时还常常挥舞（wave）双手。他趣，当他认真的很风趣，当他觉得我们厌倦时为我们厌倦时就给我们讲笑话（tell jokes）。上吴老师的课，即使是像作文和总结（summary）这样的东西都充满了乐趣。我很尊敬(respect)他。 |
