Questions 11 through 13 are based on the following passage.

Australia is a very big country, and in the center of the country, there is a lot of space and very few people. Your neighbor might live 50 kilometers away. If you get sick, it's easier for flying doctors to reach you. I am such a flying doctor. I don't have wings, but I do have a small plane to fly to patients who may be hundreds of kilometers away. I don't fly the plane myself. We have a pilot who has worked with us for 10 years. I also do a lot of work with the telephone or online, diagnosing people in remote areas. I've done this job for 15 years, and I love it.Flying in the plane is always the most exciting part of my work. Just in the last year, I've delivered seven babies, and I've collected three people and taken them to the city for life-saving operations. I've even helped one of Australia's most famous children's novelists to have a major surgery. I think there will always be a place for us as this huge country isn't getting smaller.

Questions

11.For how many years has the speaker been a flying doctor?

12.Which of the following has the speaker done as a doctor?

13.How does the speaker feel about the job as a flying doctor?

Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage.

About a decade ago, astronauts on the International Space Station got a special treat. Not chocolate, but lettuce they had grown. Lettuce is a leafy vegetable we often use for salads. This snack marked the first time vegetables grown in space had been eaten. The seeds were planted and then watered for 33 days under artificial light instead of sunlight. After harvesting the leaves, astronauts ate half of them, leaving the rest for analysis back on Earth. Besides its amazing taste, there may be a psychological benefit. One of the space project scientists said,"We think that having fresh food grown on the station would make the crew generally happier and healthier." Growing vegetables in space will be key to eventually landing people on other planets. These years, scientists have been testing special gardens on Earth to see what could grow on Earth's neighboring planet, Mars. They have managed to grow lettuce in a special soil made up of small pieces of volcanic rock as it is similar to the soil on Mars. Discoveries made in these Earth-based special gardens will pave the way for future studies on reliable, efficient food production a long way from Earth.

Questions

14.What is the passage mainly about?

15.What did one of the space project scientists say about the lettuce aboard?

16.What can be learned about the Earth-based special gardens?
