国际护士节(International Nurses Day,IND) 为每年的5月12日，是为纪念现代护理学科的创始人弗劳伦斯·南丁格尔，于1912年设立的。每逢国际护士节，世界各国卫生界都会举行纪念活动，重温南丁格尔“忠贞职守，尽力提高护理专业标准，勿为有损之事”的誓言，激励广大护理工作者秉承优良传统，竭尽全力帮助患者恢复健康，减轻病痛，为增进人类和谐、和睦，尽心尽力、尽职尽责。

International Nurses Day (IND) is an international day celebrated around the world on 12 May (the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth) of each year, to mark the contributions nurses make to society.As of 1998, 8 May was designated as annual National Student Nurses' Day.
