A child is a beam of sunlight from the Infinite and Eternal, with possibilities of virtue and vice- but as yet unstained. A child miseducated is a child lost. A torn jacket is soon mended; but hard words bruise the heart of a child. Before you beat a child, be sure yourself are not the cause of the offense. Better to be driven out from among men than to be disliked of children. Treat your kid like a darling for the first five years. For the next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat them like a friend. Your grown up children are your best friends. If you plant honesty, you will reap trust. If you plant goodness, you will reap friends. The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from a sleeping child. When I was little I used to close the fridge door really slowly just to see when the lights went out. Feeling nostalgic! I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales. Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself. Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future. Children are the hands by which we take hold of the heaven. The soul is healed by being with children.
