When a teacher presents new vocabulary, it’s important to make sure it’s presented in a way that’s comprehensible. The easiest way to write new words on the board is to make a simple list of words. However, if a teacher uses a visual approach, and groups related words by meaning, the task of remembering those words is made much easier for students. This teaching technique is called a “mind map”. There are also many uses for a mind map once it’s made. Watch for the activity the teacher does with the students after finishing the mind map on the board…. then try it with your class!
