The Elves and the Shoemaker小精灵与鞋匠

There was a shoe shop. 从前有一个鞋店。

The shoemaker made the shoes. 鞋匠制作鞋子。

He was very poor. 他非常的贫穷。

He didn't have much money. 他没有什么钱。

He had only one piece of leather for one pair of shoes.他仅仅只有一张可以做一双鞋子的皮革。

That night,那天夜里， 

the shoemaker put the leather on the table. 鞋匠把皮革放在桌子上。

Then he went to bed.然后他就上床睡觉了。

The next day, 第二天，

he saw a new pair of shoes on the table.他在桌子上看到一双新鞋子。 

He was very excited and very happy. 他非常兴奋和开心。

Soon a man came into the shop. 不久，一个男人走进店铺。

He bought the shoes. 他买下了鞋子。

Now the shoemaker had some money.现在鞋匠有一些钱了。

The shoemaker bought some more leather. 鞋匠买了更多的皮革。

He put it on the table. 他把它放在桌子上。

Then he went to bed.然后他就上床睡觉了。

The next day, 第二天，

there were two new pairs of shoes on the table.桌子上有两双新鞋子。

That night, 那天夜里，

the shoemaker hid behind the door. 鞋匠躲在门的后面。

He saw two little elves make the shoes.他看见两只小精灵在做鞋子。

The shoemaker wanted to say "Thank you". 鞋匠想要说“谢谢”。

He made some little clothes for them. 他为它们做了一些小衣服。

He also cooked them a big dinner.他还为它们做了一顿丰盛的晚餐。

At night, the elves came to the shop again. 夜里，小精灵们又来到了鞋铺。

This time, there wasn't any leather. 这次，一点皮革也没有。

But they were very happy to find the new clothes and food.但是它们看到新衣服和食物的时候非常开心。
